We analysed 4 torrential rainfall events and a non-torrent-ial case in Kagoshima to extract characteristics of torrentialrainfalls. Objects are (1)31.July,1993 (2)6.August,1993 (3)11.August,1995 (4)25.June,1995 and(5)30.June,1995(non-torrential case).
There were 2 types in torrential rainfall cases;A.Daughtercells merge to stationary mother cell, B.Comma-cell approa-ching to mother cell.
Still more, there were 3 causes to stop mother cell in type A; 1.Intense Cold Dome 2.Formation of Meso-high 3.Wind ori-ginated in synoptic scale effects.
Further, we consider of precipitation mechanisms,in higher grown-up mother cells, there were a lot of ice crystals and graupel. Graupel caught supercooled droplets in mother cells,and accelerated growth themselves,and made rainfall strongly.
